The Fraternity of the Friends of Saint Albans Abbey (we/us/our) takes the protection of members’ personal information extremely seriously.  We collect personal information when you become a member or place an order with us for events and publications.  This information is stored securely on computer systems or paper records with access limited to those trustees and staff who need to use it to communicate with you, manage your membership or provide the products and services you request.  Your personal information is not used for any other purpose.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.  If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date.  You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate

When you tell us that you no longer wish to be a member of the Fraternity of the Friends of Saint Albans Abbey and we have no further need to manage your membership or provide you with products or services, we remove your information from our records.

We will not share your data with anyone else without your consent, unless required by law to do so.  With your consent, we would like to share your contact details, including your name, address, telephone numbers and email address, with Saint Albans Cathedral, which is a legally separate organisation with its own data protection responsibilities.  There are two purposes for sharing this information with the Cathedral:

  1. Booking for our events is done through the Cathedral’s booking office and website.  The benefits available to members of the Fraternity of the Friends can only be given if the Cathedral knows that you are a member when you apply for tickets.
  2. You may wish to hear directly from the Cathedral about its life and work and events it is planning.
